Vocal Audition Advantage Summer Intensive
July 21 - August 1 at The Hartt School
The battle for admission to highly selective colleges is intense. Every year, students and their parents spend countless hours on private tutors and SAT prep, campus visits and applications. The competition to succeed in the performing arts is equally well known. Yet, when it comes to their college auditions, many gifted singers never get the help they need to put together a complete presentation and truly stand out among their peers. Small adjustments in repertoire choice, dramatic presentation, and interview skills can make a world of difference when admission decisions are made and scholarships awarded.
What sets VAA apart is our emphasis on one-on-one instruction and professional mentoring. Students receive candid feedback, and develop a personal road map and action plan for the coming year. High school students prepare to audition for elite undergraduate programs, and undergraduates gain the tools to win auditions for top performance opportunities on campus. VAA affords MT students interested in classical repertoire, and classical singers considering cross over into MT the opportunity to explore new styles in a safe setting.
